Position Summary | Software Engineer (Junior)
As a junior level software engineer, you’ll help build both Android Automotive OS features and customer-facing features of our connected Infotainment System. You should have a good understanding of the Android System and Framework.

Location: Bengaluru, India
- Handle everything from understanding what’s needed to building the feature in Android Automotive.
- Build different parts of the Android Automotive System.
- Take responsibility for several parts of the Android Automotive System.
- Deliver software so it can be combined with other software.
- Make sure test plans are followed, and write down the results.
- Make sure early testing and checks happen for your feature area.
- Make sure requirements are trackable, consistent, and fully built out.
- Sort and fix bugs.
- Work with other teams to solve problems that depend on other features or bugs.
- Guide and help newer team members finish their work on time.
Mandatory Skills:
- Deep knowledge of: Android Audio Core — Audio Manager/Service, Audio Effect framework, Car Audio Manager/Service, Media Session
- Good understanding of Audio changes in Android 10, 12, and 14
- Languages: Java / C++
- Tools: Android Studio, SWUT and SWINT cts-tradefed / vts-tradefed
- Methods: SaFE agile, ASPICE
- Dev tools: GitLab, Gerrit, Git
- Able to work on your own to find and fix tricky audio bugs across the whole audio system, from HMI to Audio BSP (the full audio setup)
- Skilled at debugging audio issues — finding the cause and fixing complex bugs from HMI to Audio BSP
- Knowledge of Audio HAL for emulators, including the Audio Effect HAL
- Very familiar with Google’s test tools: ATS, CTS, VTS, PCTS, etc.
- Very familiar with Android Auto + CarPlay specs, updates, and how they connect with other systems
- Nice to have: QEMU skills
- Nice to have: knowledge of Bluetooth audio systems
Basic Qualification
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of solid experience building Audio Automotive Systems.
