We’re looking for a Java Backend Software Engineer to help build scalable, reliable, high-performing backend services. You will work on modern microservices, APIs, and cloud-based applications while working with product managers, architects, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver meaningful solutions. What You’ll Do & How You’ll Make Your Mark
- Design, build, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Write clean, easy-to-maintain, well-tested code.
- Take part in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design talks.
- Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Fix production issues and find the root cause of problems.
- Work with different teams in an Agile environment.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and good engineering practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and support software quality across the team.
Who You Are & What You’ll Need to Succeed
- 4+ years of backend software development experience.
- Strong experience with Java (Java 8+).
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
- Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Understanding of object-oriented design basics and design patterns.
- Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, and Docker.
- Familiarity with distributed systems, caching, and messaging tools such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production support skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with Spring Security.
- Experience with Redis or other caching technologies.
- Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI).
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Some exposure to Spring AI or AI-powered application development.
- Experience with OAuth2, JWT, or secure API development.
- Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, Spring Security, REST APIs, Microservices, MySQL / PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka / RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Git, Maven / Gradle, Swagger / OpenAPI.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Passion for writing clean, easy-to-maintain code.
- Ability to design scalable backend systems.
- A sense of ownership with a focus on quality and reliability.
- Comfortable working in Agile teams and collaborating across different functions.
