Overview
TNS is seeking an Android Developer with 8+ years of experience in Android, Kotlin and Java to contribute across the full software lifecycle, with a strong focus on software development, systems architecture, component integration, CI/CD implementation, and enhancing application security on android terminals for payments processing in close collaboration with internal teams.
ResponsibilitiesMust have strong Android, Kotlin, Java, Linux, firmware, database (Room), device SDKs, MVVM, Data Binding.Experience with modern Android frameworks and tools, such as Jetpack Compose and dependency injection (Hilt)Must have strong computer science fundamentals like algorithms, data structures, multi-threading, UI, oops concepts and good debugging experience.Hands-on experience in programming methodologies and implementations like, Finite State Machine, Android Inter Process Communications, Timers etcExperience with Android build and test tooling (e.g. Gradle, emulators, device),Experience with CI/CD (GitLab CI or similar), automated testing (JUnit, Espresso, UI Automator, Robolectric)Strong technical software background with good analytical, problem solving, and communication skills are essential as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with ability to meet deadlinesDeep knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including scoping, planning, conception, design, implementation, deployment and maintenance.Design, code high quality software components and document them in accordance with organizational standards, technical requirements, and detailed designs that meet industry standards.Be able to work in an independent manner as part of an Agile scrum teamBe able to research technical solutions and recommend options with appropriate reasoning
QualificationsMust have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.8+ Years of experienceDesirable to have Payment Industry knowledge will be preferred E.g. Familiarity with Payment Card Industry (PCI)standards and some payment card specificationsExperience in payments, point-of-sale, or hardware-integrated systems is a plus.
