Position Purpose:
Albertsons Companies’ Supply Chain team is hiring a Staff Engineer Software – Front End for the GCC Bangalore team. It’s a hands-on, individual role working with engineers, designers, product, architects, business stakeholders, and teams spread across locations, to build web and mobile features for Order Management, Wholesale, and Transportation.
The right candidate is mainly a front-end person but can also do full-stack work. who can build solid React/TypeScript interfaces, helping with Java/Spring Boot APIs and use AI tools smartly to get more done, without lowering security, quality, or making the code easy to maintain.

- Modernize how supply chain apps work. such as order tracking, wholesale processes, transportation processes, and mobile features.
- Reduce reliance on too much on old, systems by standardizing modern web, API, mobile, and patterns.
- Work with both U.S. and India teams to build solutions that can scale, that are easy to track, easy-to maintain stuff that can handle a lot of volume.
Key Responsibilities:
- Front end work: Design, build, test, and maintain responsive web apps using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and modern UI patterns.
- Mobile stuff: Build or support mobile-friendly features, and where needed, jump into React Native, Flutter, or native Android/iOS work.
- Full-stack teamwork: Work with backend engineers to connect UI to REST APIs, Java/Spring Boot services, Kafka workflows, and other data sources..
- Domain delivery: Turn Supply Chain Order Management, Wholesale, and Transportation needs into easy-to-use user journeys, reusable components, and reliable.
- Quality ownership: Handle unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests, accessibility checks, and mobile testing, using tools like Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium.
- Performance and reliability: Improve front-end speed, fix browser/mobile issues, help with monitoring, and troubleshoot problems wherever they pop up.
- Following good practices: Write clean, maintainable code; join design reviews, and follow to secure coding and CI/CD practices.
- Using AI tools wisely: Use GitHub Copilot or similar tools to move faster, for writing tests, cleaning up code, or docs, but always double-check the AI’s work for accuracy and security.
- Team collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, architects, product owners, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders even across different locations.
- Mentoring: Help guide less experienced engineers on coding standards, debugging, and front-end best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- 6-9 years of software engineering experience, with solid hands-on web development.
- Strong experience with React or Angular, React + TypeScript is what they really want.
- Solid knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, responsive design, browser basics, and accessibility.
- Experience building and using REST APIs, and working with Java/Spring Boot teams.
- Comfortable with SQL and data modeling, knowledge of databases like Oracle, Azure SQL Server, or PostgreSQL..
- Practical experience with automated testing for web apps. like unit tests and end-to-end tests.
- Comfortable with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc).
- Some cloud experience such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Ability to find ans fix complex issues across UI, API, data, and integration points.
- Able to understand what people expect, ask the right questions, and flag risks early if something looks off.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Mobile app experience with React Native, Flutter, Kotlin/Android, Swift/iOS, or similar.
- Experience with Kafka, event streaming, , asynchronous integration and things like retries and data consistency.
- Enough Java/Spring Boot experience to help out with APIs and debugging when needed.
- NoSQL experience such as MongoDB or Cassandra, plus experience with mobile data syncing.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, monitoring tools, performance tuning.
- Experience in supply chain, logistics, wholesale, order management, transportation, yard management, or retail technology.
- Comfortable using AI tools like GitHub Copilot, but always double-checking the output.
- Familiarity with GraphQL, design systems, frontends, component libraries, or modern front-end tools.
