Professional responsibilities

• Be adept at sorting, collecting and distributing mail items safely and in a timely manner

• Acquire and maintain knowledge of local infrastructure, including roads, customers and delivery receptacles

• Ensure that the mail is safely in his possession

Professional Responsibilities (continued)

  • Process the various CPC products and services (Change of Address Notice, Damaged Mail, Delivered Invoices (BID) and others)
  • Wear Canada Post identification when delivering and ensure its visibility while delivering and collecting customer mail
  • Lift and carry items up to 50 lbs / 22.7 kg
  • Have experience in deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions

Other information

Mandatory vehicle requirements 
 

  • Have a satisfactory safe driving record 
  • Possess a valid permanent provincial driver’s license – class 5 or G. 
  • Minimum cargo space of 50 cu ft (1,415 liters) 
  • Automatic gearbox 
  • Power windows; 
  • Metal roof and an additional electrical outlet allowing the installation of a Canada Post sign and a flashing light; 
  • Middle of passenger window sill between 38 in. and 45 in. from the ground and maximum interior width of vehicle must be 56 in.; 
  • Fifth door or tailgate to allow loading of oversized and bulky items (preferred) 
  • Provide and maintain the required automobile liability insurance for the use of your vehicle 
  • Notify your insurance company of the use of your vehicle while employed by Canada Post 
  • Have a satisfactory safe driving record 
  • Possess a valid permanent provincial driver’s license – class 5 or G.
