About the Role
DexCare is looking for a software Engineer in Test. In this role, you’ll focus on understanding how customers use our platform. You’ll help build and improve our test automation tools, and create, maintain, and run automated tests for both old and new situations. You should be detail-focused and good at helping build test plans and test cases, and finding smart ways to test and check software.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with the engineering team to decide how to test each feature you work on. This means writing test plans and building the related automated tests for what each feature needs to do.
- Help grow and improve our current automation tools as needed.
- Be skilled at coding in TypeScript, JavaScript, or other related web tools.
- Understand GitHub, Git Actions, and code storage tools, especially for CI/CD.
- Work closely with the engineering team to build strong testing tools.
- Run tests, share results, and keep test cases updated.
- Be good at both partial-knowledge (gray box) and full-knowledge (white box) testing.
- Take part in code reviews and design talks.
- Take part in on-call shifts.
What You’ll Bring:
- BS in Computer Science or similar work experience
- 3-5 years of hands-on quality testing and SDET work experience
- Experience building and improving automation tools, and using scripts to automate API and UI tests
- Able to build test plans and create, run, and manage test cases for each project
- Able to review results with the engineering team and figure out why something failed (finding the root cause)
- Able to report and track issues in JIRA and keep the team updated
- Skilled in full-knowledge (white box) testing
- Familiar with Kanban, Agile, and Scrum ways of working, plus tools like Atlassian, Slack, and DataDog for fixing problems
- Great writing and speaking skills
- Great thinking and problem-solving skills, with a strong record of solving tricky issues
- Experience testing AI systems, including checking multi-step AI processes, tool connections, and unpredictable results from AI models in live use
- Experience using Claude Code for AI-assisted development, including using AI tools to speed up writing tests, building frameworks, and reviewing code
Preferred Experience:
- Must have full-knowledge (white box) testing and automation experience
- Skilled at coding, building automation tools, and supporting the engineering team through testing
- Able to work with very little guidance
